Summary:
Rachel is German and Jewish and living in Leipzig. With the outbreak of World War II, Rachel's comfortable family life is shattered - they are forced to move and then the Nazis finally arrive to take the family away. But Rachel's father gives her instructions that will save her life. He also tells her not to speak. Rachel remains silent for the rest of the war. But what has happened to her family? And will Rachel regain her voice when she really needs it?
